About Market Minded

Helping Businesses Start, Grow, and Succeed

Market Minded Consulting was founded with a simple goal: helping business owners turn ideas into reality.

Starting and growing a business can be overwhelming. From branding and websites to marketing and business strategy, many entrepreneurs find themselves wearing every hat while trying to build something meaningful. Market Minded exists to provide guidance, practical solutions, and trusted support throughout that journey.

Whether you're launching your first business, refreshing your brand, building your online presence, or looking for new opportunities to grow, our mission is to help you move forward with confidence.

What Guides Our Work

Market Minded was built around a practical approach to consulting: understand the real problem, challenge assumptions when necessary, consider what happens next, and build solutions people can actually execute.

These principles shape how we work with every client.

How We Work

Direct. Curious. Practical. Collaborative.

Market Minded isn't built around jargon, canned frameworks, or making simple problems unnecessarily complicated. We ask questions, listen to the people closest to the work, challenge ideas when necessary, and stay focused on solutions that make sense for the organization in front of us.

We don't expect clients to have all the answers before contacting us. Figuring out what is really happening is part of the work.

Good business decisions require more than good ideas.

They require understanding the problem, the people involved, the processes behind it, and what happens after the decision is made.

Market Minded Consulting as built to help organizations think though those challenges, turn ideas into executable plans, and improve the way they lead, operate and grow.

Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Mike Hayes, Founder and Owner of Market Minded Consulting.

I founded Market Minded Consulting after years of working in leadership, technology, operations, project management, and process improvement environments where decisions rarely affected just one person, system, or department.

My experience has taught me that solving the immediate problem is only part of the job. The harder and often more important part is understanding what caused it, what else the solution will affect, and whether the organization can realistically execute the change.

Leadership | Projects | Process Improvement | Critical Analysis

My professional experience has included leading teams, managing managers, and supervisors, overseeing large-scale technology operations, managing budgets and resources, coordinating projects, improving processes, developing employees, working through organizational change and balancing the needs of customers, leadership, and technical teams.

I've worked in environments where incomplete information, competing priorities, limited resources, risk, an unexpected problems are normal, not exceptions.

That experience has included responsibility for teams and operations supporting thousands of users and devices, thousands of annual service requests, organizational budgets, projects, contracts, training, performance, and day-to-day operational requirements.

Experience isn't just what went right.

Some of the most valuable lessons in business and leadership come from projects that didn't go exactly as planned, the difficult employee situations, the competing priorities, the process that looked good on paper but failed in execution, or the decision that created an unexpected problem somewhere else.

I believe those experiences matter!

Market Minded applies lessons learned from both successes and challenges to help clients identify risks earlier, challenge assumptions, and make more informed decisions.

Look beyond the immediate problem

A solution an fix today's problem while creating tomorrow's.

That's why Market Minded looks beyond the immediate outcome. We consider how a decision may affect employees, managers, customers, processes, workload, finances, technology, risk, and future growth.

Depending on the engagement, that may include challenging assumptions, identifying unintended consequences, examining second and third order effects, or red teaming a proposed plan before significant resources are committed.

The goal isn’t to make decisions unnecessarily complicated. It's to identify the complications before they become expensive problems.

Why Market Minded?

Market Minded Consulting was created around a simple idea: small growing organizations should have access to practical business expertise without needing a massive consulting contract.

Sometimes a business needs help deloping its managers. Sometimes a project needs structure. Sometimes a process has grown inefficient over time. Sometimes an owner needs someone outside the organization to challenge an idea before they invest in it. And sometimes the problem isn't obvious yet.

Market Minded exists to help businesses understand those challenges, evaluate their options, and build practical soltions they can actually execute.
